Mamata Banerjee’s plea for votes had never been more impassioned in Bhowanipore – her home turf for six terms as MP – than on Monday when she stood before a crowd of 10,000 at JaduBabu’s Bazar to say, “Vote for Trinamool, if you love me even a little.”
On the other hand, her attack on the Centre and CBI was much shriller. The reason for both was the same: BJP had stolen a march over Trinamool in Bhowanipore segment in the last Lok Sabha polls. Throughout her speech, Mamata reiterated how it was a homecoming for her as she tried to build bridges with the voters.
