FOLKIRA: An Initiative To Revive The Rich Folk Art Forms Of The Country

Folkira, An Initiative To Revive The Rich Folk Art Forms Of The Country: In our contemporary world, dominated by a dysfunctional system, indigenous cultures are being threatened and gradually eroded. Folk cultures effortlessly provide a common identity and direction, a natural sense of belonging that cannot be replicated by any amount of social concocting.

Keeping this in mind NSHM Institute of Media and Design presents the theme for Y COMM 2017 – “Folkira”, which is a two-day festival celebrating the importance of communication among the youth; comprising a variety of events ranging from Fashion Show to War of Bands to intellectual activities like debate and quizzing. Y COMM is not just about celebrating grandly, but also about inculcating the feeling of responsibility among the youth by supporting a social cause every year. Through the theme of Folkira, the fest encourages the youth to focus on revival of the rich folk art forms of the country.
